Assumptions
A faculty member has made advancements towards a student who is close in age. At first,
the student is taken with the instructor, believing
that the instructor is just very friendly. The behavior continues and becomes more apparent. The student starts to feel uncomfortable with certain remarks and advancements.
After some time, the instructor makes additional leading remarks
and insinuations that the student's grades may be better if the student would become more intimately involved. Other students notice that the student in question is uncomfortable with the instructor and tells the student to just ignore the actions.
